Prepare for the awkward <3

Well, hello there! The aforementioned chaos from my previous post….long, LONG ago….has passed! Sort of! Woooooo! Here be long overdue updates, as well as some friendly rambling.

Shall we? 😉

Now, don’t get me wrong. Chaos is still occurring. She’s just out in the world now, lol, being adorable.

I had an adorable baby girl back in November! ❤

My body does not like being pregnant, as much as I wish otherwise. That’s one reason I haven’t spoken about it. And, quite honestly, it’s scary to talk about when your body is less than cooperative. I was high risk, as I was when I was pregnant with The Gremlin, and had different complications this time, so I was basically treating myself very delicately.

Lol, I’m super bad at it though. Have you ever had the issue where your doc tells you to take it easy and suddenly you have this weird, out of nowhere, burning desire to paint the ceiling and re-shingle the roof just because you were told not to do anything? No? Just me? Lol, maybe it was the whole “nesting” thing.

So with all that being said, what’s the logical next best thing to do when nearing the end of my maternity leave with a brand new Gremlin joining her older brother? Do something that I’m really bad at! Woohoo! XD

Now just seems like the perfect time to hurl my introverted self face-first into social media and book marketing. After stalking-ahem-*studying* other indie authors, I’m leaving my lurker comfort zone and actually posting.

God help me, here are my links:

I’m still figuring out how to make content, and whether I want to do the whole TikTok shop thing. I’m greatly unsure. I think I’m just going to take it slow, get through my initial awkward stumbling, and see where it goes.

I plan to start posting this week. Probably, lol. I’m not promising a certain day, because if you’ve been with me a while you know I am my own worst enemy with time management. When I do start making videos, it’s going to be bad, guys. Like, real bad.

Lol, maybe if I set the bar low, at around “my viewers have all imploded due to second-hand embarrassment” levels of bad, the only way from there is up, right? RIGHT!?

Of course, this also means it could be kinda fun. Because I am made of chaos and therefore somehow magically thrive in it. Sort of. And with the lowest of low bars, I can kind of wing it and hope for the best.

That’s “The Plan” so far. Epic strategist, I am not. But hopefully my stumbling around the internet will make you smile. 🙂

Now, onwards to book news! Wooo!

Legacy is officially out! It released while I was preparing to have Ms Gremlin, so I did absolutely no marketing. Because, say it with me: chaos.

So I’ll be dropping a couple things about Legacy here, although it’s a tad late. 😉 At the very least, I’m definitely doing the soundtrack post I always do.

Here’s the synopsis:

Evie has the worst taste in men. Period. She knows this. Her twin, Ava, knows this. She’s shocked and amazed that there aren’t scientific papers written about this phenomenon. As if fate is messing with her, it’s while she’s in the middle of a self-imposed man detox, and the small Ohio town she lives in is under threat by evil, deadly magical forces taking advantage of the humans living there, that the only man who could tempt her out of her detox strolls right up to her front door. Covered in blood and carrying a weapon.

Banen is in no position to pursue a relationship with Evie. Betrayed by his own aunt, his throne stolen from him, and his people suffering while Ejoma’s new enemy, Humiv, enslaves and kills them, he knows it’s safer for them both to walk away. Despite his best intentions, however, he finds it impossible to keep his distance. When his aunt’s bloodthirsty underlings catch up with him, Evie is forced to escape with Banen into an Ejoma that is teetering ever closer to a war that is already beginning to affect the human realm.

I loved writing Banen and Evie’s story, and I hope you enjoy reading about them! 🙂

And now I can officially start talking about the next book! The Lost Soul! I’m awful at titles, but I think this is the one that’s sticking.

I have no synopsis to offer yet, but I have the main plot points mapped out, and the book is 1/3 of the way written. I took a little break, for obvious Gremlin-related reasons. ❤ See what you can discern from these teaser images:

Another part of “The Plan” is to have a book out roughly once a year, around Halloween. Because I love Halloween. ❤ That’s dangerous for me to put out into the universe. It’s a solid timeframe, which is usually a mistake, but we’re going to go for it!

There are 7 books planned in this series, so we’re about to be halfway there! Pay attention to the Standalone chapters. They give hints as to who may have a book coming up. 😉 Anyone who hasn’t found their mate is fair game.

Now, off to go be awkward on camera! Yaaaay! Until next time, Take Care and Happy Writing! 😀

OK, I got my copy, but I’ll have to maybe skim book 2 again to refresh my old-man-memory.

Also, I’m reading another series right now, so it might be a little while, but I’ll get to it.

I would have clicked on all those social media links (I have accounts in all of them except Tik-Tok), except I’m off of them except for the occasional heartbeat post (I’ll check your links when I do one of those).

As for everything else, glad you got through your pregnancy successfully and with another bundle of treasure.

Oh, and of course, good luck with your writing.

Thank you so much! I hope you like it! 🙂 What series are you reading now? I’ve been told that I need to start Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros, now that I’m in the phase of writing where I’m allowing myself to read again. Lol, too often I procrastinate big time by reading, so I have to pace myself.

And I’m with you on the social media. I usually only post once in a while about my books, so I’m not normally on there a lot. Lol, this is going to be a big change for me, taking a couple hours each week to just do social media.

And thank you! My Gremlins are amazing and I love them sooo much, even when they have me up at 4am, lol. It’s so funny, my daughter looks almost exactly like my son, especially at the baby stage.

And good luck with your writing too! 🙂

I’m currently reading two series. The first is by Barry Eisler. Not really a series, but a series of books.

Here’s a link to his bibliography:

        Books | Barry Eisler

I have four more books to read there.

The other is by Jenny Schwartz:

The Adventures of a Xeno-Archaeologist (5 book series) Kindle Edition

Two different genres and I switch between them. The Schwartz series is a bit messier in terms of plot, and I might not finish all the books.

I’m struggling to find books I like, and I have the itch to write again (Currently something tentatively titled The Witch.

I gave a tease of it here (only 357 words):

December 2024 Heartbeat Post – Disperser Tracks

I have 10K words into it so far. It was supposed to be a short story, but I’m topping 10K and it looks more like it will be a novella.

The bad thing is that I’m not pushing myself, so I only write sporadically.

In part, that’s because I consolidated all my writing into a blog page:

        My Fiction – Disperser Tracks

Yup . . . I’m reading a lot of my old stuff (one of my favorite writers, I am).

Anyway, this will go into moderation, so I hope you’ll eventually see it and free it up.

Take care, good luck with your writing.

Sorry about the double posts. I had some issue with the comment not showing up . . . and then there were two.

Lol, no worries at all! I was having a hard time answering your post, so you almost got two replies. 😀 It just didn’t want to upload and I thought it was frozen or my internet dropped, lol.
