Hello all! Well, 2024 has already been crazypants, and it’s only May. Lol, that just means the end of the year is going to be the most amazing thing since sliced bread, right? Right?! Please, God, let that be right, lol.

I have updates for you! Mostly about the upcoming release of Legacy! And then some other stuff too! Buckle in, folks – I’m in full chaos mode. Blame 2024, lol. 😉

Also, you know what time it is, right? Yep! Celebratory dance off, just because it’s another beautiful day on this planet, full of possibility. And maybe a sprinkling of chaos for funsies. 😉 ❤

First of all, I gotta say, what the actual hell, 2024? And why does it feel like I’ve said that every year previously in recent memory? But with more passion every year?

I have now been injured three times and sick twice. Since January. *sigh* Lol, what even is that? And there’s still more chaos afoot!

I’d like to plainly say we’re now all in good health over here, but then if I did blatantly say it, I’m afraid 2024 would be all like ~

Nobody wants that. I’d have to move to the moon, and I don’t know how to homestead. Lol, especially because there is more chaos to come, which I may or may not talk about at a later date. So, while I’m not going to tempt fate, I’ll say nothing is currently on fire, lol.

And since nothing is on fire, we’ve made progress on Legacy, ladies and gentlemen! Wooooooooooooo!!!!!

Editing is complete! The cover is complete! And the badass team of graphic designers over at Streetlight Graphics are finishing up the inside formatting for the book!

Lol, now for some shenanigans. You know me by now. I am officially the worst at social media. Knowing what to post. Posting in a timely fashion. What all the options are for filters and designs and what have you. I am your stoneage ancestor who still chisels her grocery list on stone tablets. I don’t know how to social media.

But an attempt will be made. Pray for me. Or if you don’t pray, send good universal juju. Lol, this could get ugly. I have no one to blame but myself for my lack of social media know-how.

Prepare thyself for some potentially poorly edited posts on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and perhaps even TikTok if I really go all in on the chaos. Because, according to my beloved husband, I have to actually do the marketing so people know my books exist, lol. I was shocked and apalled to learn that they don’t just randomly pop up in people’s feeds with no effort from myself. That the literary house elves haven’t decided to help a lady out and drop my books off on people’s doorsteps. I’d like to speak to common sense’s manager, because nobody informed me (aside from every book I’ve ever read on writing and every single other indie author I’ve ever met) that I needed to do this.

My supremely amazing editor Debra Hartmann at The Pro Book Editor gave me a rundown on different platforms and scheduling posts and how to set things up to post to multiple platforms at once. I made lots of notes for my technologically challenged brain to process. One of my clients told me about an app that will post to pretty much every platform all from one dashboard.

See? I’m learning. I used big words there. Like “platform” and “dashboard.”

Somewhere in this house, my husband (who is good at technology) senses what I just wrote and is face palming.

Now, I can’t make any promises about *when* this marketing will begin. Lol, let’s not get all crazy and out of character here. Along with social media, I also don’t know how to do this thing called “time management,” whatever that is.

Please bear with me as I figure all this out. I’m looking at Canva to help with designing stuff, and Planoly for mass posting. We’ll see how it goes. I may rant more about my lack of skill at a later date, hopefully after I’ve actually posted a few dozen things.

In the meantime, while I’m bringing my prehistoric brain up to date on social media, I’ll drop some fun excerpts from Legacy here and there as we approach the book’s release date. I have some plans on dropping hints for future books too.

Now, speaking of chaos and me figuring my life out over here with the social media situation, I have some research to do. 😉
